Cheyenne Desiree Smith

January 19, 1998 — December 31, 2019

Cheyenne Desiree Smith, 21, of Oscoda, gained her angel wings on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 as a result of an automobile accident.   Cheyenne was born on January 19, 1998 in Alpena, to Edward Smith and Patricia Compton. Cheyenne graduated from Alpena High School in 2016, participating in volleyball and cheerleading. She was employed by McDonald’s in Alpena. She enjoyed camping, music, but most of all spending time with her family on game night. She enjoyed a good laugh, was positive, and full of love and compassion for anyone she came across. Cheyenne was especially proud as a “dog mom” to her two fur babies, Chloe and Kenzie.   Cheyenne is survived by her brother, Kevin Herbin, and her sister, Shawana Procunier both of Mikado, her fiancé, Neil Smith of Oscoda, several aunts and uncles, including her special aunt, Peggy Compton (Rod Budreau) of Spruce, her best friend Hailey Kucharek and godson Carter Wyman of Alpena, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.   Cheyenne was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Compton Herbin in 2016 and her grandmother, Theresa Compton in 2007.   Cheyenne is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where friends may call on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 12:00 until 3:00 P.M. A celebration of life luncheon will follow at the Mikado American Legion, 2205 Alger St. Mikado MI.
