Chauncey E. Schmidt

Chauncey E. Schmidt, 88, of Saginaw, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at his cabin in Greenbush.

Born April 5, 1936 to Leonard and Lazeldia (Diffin) Schmidt in Saginaw, he was raised in Saginaw County. He enjoyed a long career as a hand grinder at Fullerton Tool Company in Saginaw. He retired and started spending the majority of his time at his Greenbush cabin in 1985. Chauncey had a passion for farming, and loved tending to his beef cattle. He enjoyed hunting and boating. 

Chauncey is survived by three children, Debra (Dale Beischer) Schmidt, James Schmidt, and April (Carl) Schmidt, two grandchildren, Troy Sanchez and Sam Therrien, one great grandson, Fabian Sanchez, his sister, Margaret Turner, his sister-in-law, Virginia Wellman, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra (Powell), his grandson, Christopher Sanchez, and his brother-in-law, Don Turner. 

Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
