Charles T. Roy, 82, of Lincoln, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025.
Born December 27, 1942, to Eugene and Jane (Johnston) Roy in Fort Worth, Texas, he was raised in Texas and Massachusetts. Charlie served in the United States Air Force. On June 25, 1964, he married Inez Ritchie in Lincoln. They were longtime residents of Trenton. Charlie worked as an Iron Worker, and retired to Lincoln in 2017. He was very active with the Masons and Shriners. Charlie enjoyed spending time at car shows and showing off his 1957 Chevy. The ‘57 won several awards over the years. He enjoyed restoring vehicles, and was working on his 1941 Ford Coupe. His most cherished moments were with his grandchildren, watching them participate in different activities.
Charlie is survived by two daughters, Trina (Jack) Lengyel of Trenton, and Trista Roy of Trenton, two sons, Charles K. (Cheyanna) Roy of Dearborn Heights, and Chad Roy of Warren, seven grandchildren, Jordan and Tyler Sutherby, Isla Lengyel, Eli, Milo, and Phoenix Melvin, and Chase Roy, two sisters, Louelle Roy, and Lindsay Roy, his brother, Alexander Roy, five sisters-in-law, Clara (Vern) Barta, and Joyce Keena, Diane (Terry) Sands, Rena Stephenson, and Nancy (Harry) Dunn, and his brother-in-law, Raymond (Linda) Ritchie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez on August 19, 2021, sister-in-law, Lisa Roy, brother-in-law, Tom Keena, his parents, Eugene and Jane Roy, and his father and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Mona Ritchie.
Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Alcona Masonic Lodge in Lincoln.
