Charles D. Hill, 73, of Lincoln, died April 5, 2018, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Alpena. Born November 8, 1944 in Capac, Michigan to Charles F. and Jessie (Lake) Hill he was raised in Lapeer until he was 13 then moving to Barton City. He graduated from Alcona High School in 1963. Charlie owned and operated Hill’s Forest Products of Barton City from 1969 until 1988. He was an Alcona County Sheriff Deputy for 14 years and a Former Millen Township Constable. Charlie married Constance Stone on May 10, 2003. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Barton City and was a former member of the Alcona Lodge 292 Free and Accepted Masons. He is survived by his wife Connie (Stone), his son, Patrick of Barton City, his daughters Tina (George) Schrader, of Barton City, Julie (Jim Scott) Cole, of Mikado and Stacy Kelly, of Harrisville, grandchildren; Amber and Trevor Schrader, Blake Hill, Brooke and Tyler McGrath, Chad Cole, Bradon Scott, Hayley Conner, Mariah and Callie Scott, a sister, Ailla (Walt) Asselin of Alger, and his sister-in-law, Carol Hill of North Carolina. Preceding him in death were his mother, Jessie Zak on 2014, his father Charles F. Hill on November 4, 1983, his brother, Guy “Dick” Hill on October 21, 2014, and his granddaughter Dana Cole on November 12, 2002. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, Michigan, Rev. Edward Morrison officiated. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Barton City Michigan, later in the spring.
