Betty Campbell

On March 22, 2018 in Grand Rapids, MI, our beloved mother, grandmumsie, Betty Crocker Campbell, granny, peacefully passed on to spend eternal life with her Lord and Savior. She was born on July 26, 1930 in Alpena, MI to Harold and Olga Prena and married Theodore Campbell on April 29, 1950.  They were long time residents of Lincoln, MI along with their daughters Joanne, Kathleen, and Laura.  Upon retirement, they moved to Stuart, FL to be near Laura. Betty was preceded in death by Ted, her husband of 59 years, her parents, brother Ralph, and infant grandson Scott McBride. Surviving are her loving daughters Joanne (Dave) Fongers, Kathleen (Steve) Comes, Laura McBride, and sister Dolores (Roger) Sims. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Jeffrey (Celina) Comes, Erin Comes, Jason Fongers, Jonathan Comes, Stephanie (Josh) Marten, Jennifer and Michael McBride, and great grandchildren: Derick Comes Buchman, Jeffrey Comes, Cooper Comes, Elliot Fongers, Isabella Comes, and Brayden Marten. By being thrifty, toiling in her large vegetable garden, and using her skills as a seamstress, her contributions as a homemaker were enormous.  She was a great cook and made the best apple pies. For many years, she worked as the "assistant" clerk for Haynes Township. This past winter, she entered her only quilt in an art competition at Fulton Manor. She was very excited to win first place. Most recently, she enjoyed spending time with family, reminiscing about the good old days, watching "Little House on the Prairie," and reading novels.   The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Fulton Manor in Grand Rapids for their compassion and support during her time there.
