Bernice A. Frede

Bernice A. Frede, 90, of Greenbush, passed away Monday, October 5, 2020. Born December 26, 1929 to Frank E. and Aurora B. (LaValley) Erbe in Pontiac, she was raised in Croswell, MI. On April 1, 1950, she married Richard R. Frede in Croswell, and they were longtime residents of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. In 1976 they retired to Greenbush, MI. A devoted homemaker, Bernice loved taking care of her children, and was very proud of each of her grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, cross stitch, and riding her bike. She enjoyed her time on the Lake Huron shore, especially picking up stones. Bernice is survived by four children, James R. (Rhonda) Frede M.D. of MO, Nancy Goldsmith of CA, Janet Carnaghi of Northville, MI, and Thomas (Christine) Frede of Oscoda, MI, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and her sister, Lucille West of Croswell, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard on September 5, 1998, her grandson, and her great grandson, her sister, Ileen Parker, and her brother Robert F. Erbe. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Disease foundation of your choice.
