Barbara Jean Detloff

Barbara Jean Detloff, 66, of Spruce, passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland.  Born May 25, 1953 to Joseph and Helen (Smith) Suchy in Union Town PA, she was raised in Hamtramck.  On November 19, 1977, she married Albert Detloff in Sterling Heights.  They were residents of Hazel Park before moving to Ossineke and eventually settling in Spruce.  Barb loved her family and friends.  Having her house full of life gave her such joy.  When you walked through the door, you were always greeted with a warm smile and “Hello”.  She made the best apple pie, and was proud to teach her children to cook.  Barb loved live music and going to concerts.  So much so, she blamed them for her hearing loss.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. She really treasured family vacations to Florida.   Barb is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Michael) Walker of Harrisville, her son, David (Jackie) Detloff of Auburn Hills, three grandchildren, Travis and Camille Walker and Mia Detloff, her brother, Steve Suchy and her beloved dog Frenchie.  Barb was preceded in death by her husband Al on November 27, 2011, her parents, Joseph and Helen Suchy, her sister Lorraine Suchy and two brothers Jody and Johnny Suchy.  Visitation will be at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from11:00 AM until the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM.  A reception will follow at the Caledonia Township Hall.     To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Barbara Jean Detloff, please visit our flower store.
