Audrey Sue Dixon passed away peacefully on December 11th, 2024, leaving behind a lot of love, laughter, and many who loved her. She was born on December 8th, 1939, to Aubrey and Delsie Smith in Pontiac, Michigan, where she would live until relocating to Mikado in 2014. Having a young mother was a delight to her children, as she was so full of life and adventure. From Brownie Troops to Girl Scouts and everything in between, her warm presence was always felt.
While many thought she was beautiful, it barely held a candle to the beauty she had within. She considered her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren the greatest treasures of her life. Never one to back down from a challenge, she owned the only house on the block with an inground swimming pool, despite having the buoyancy of a lead brick. Many a summer was spent on the deck grilling while the grandkids learned how to swim, and there was always a Christmas Eve celebration in front of the fireplace in the home she lived in for 50 years. Her wit rivaled many a comedian and she could disarm anyone with a perfect one-liner or put them in their place, leaving no one questioning who was in charge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Daniel Smith, sisters Lillian Gaves and Sandra Prue, daughter Cynthia Sue VanDusen, son Thomas Earl Baber, and granddaughter Lindsey Diana Magill. She is survived by daughter Wendy Cramer of Mikado, Michigan, brother Ken Smith of Oahu, Hawaii, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
