Richard L. Schott, 68 of Mikado died Sunday, February 4, 2007 at home. On April 12, 1938 he was born to Clyde and Thelma (Hooper) Schott in Wyandotte, Michigan he was raised in Ohio and Detroit. On June 11, 1960 he married Collette F. Lopez they have been residents of Mikado since 1997. He was employed as a police officer in Detroit from January of 1971 until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Blue Knights motorcycles of Michigan Chapter 1, the Detroit Police Officers Association, and the Police Officers Association of Michigan. Survivors include his wife, four daughters, Rene Madelynn Wilson of Fair Haven, Leah Kathleen Mathis, of Lincoln, Delia Therese Schott of Brethren and Lorraine Alma Schott of Detroit; three sons, Richard Lee Schott II of Grosse Pte. Park, Mark Daniel Schott of Brethren and Robert Luke Schott of Rio Ranch, New Mexico;. 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, February 8, from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 P.M.at the funeral home. Memorials suggested to the Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan.
