Frederick L. Procunier

Frederick L. Procunier, 93 of Barton City died Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Lincoln, Haven Rehabilitation and Nursing Community. Born July 29, 1913 to Richard and Donna Procunier in Gustin Township, he was raised there and resided there most of his life. Fred served in the army in WWII. Fred married Leora McArthur in December 31, 1947. She preceded him in death on November 10, 1971. He married Elizabeth Worpell on June 14, 1973 she preceded him on July 27 1985. On September 28, 1991 he married Evelyn McGregor, they resided in Barton City, she preceded him in death on September 29, 2006. Fred farmed most of his life, was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Barton City. Survivors include his daughters, Kay Smith of Bay City and Shelly (Carl) Sonberg of Harrisville, step children, Judy Kazyak of Boyne City, Delores Dakan of Harrisville and Sharon Simmons of Harrison Township, Violet Bethuy of Mikado, Helen Indish of Hubbard Lake, Jodie Phleps of San Clemente, California, Loretta Kowalski of Harbor Springs, Wayne McGregor of Barton City, Anita King of Bailey, Colorado, Freeman(Joe) McGregor of Barton City and Burton McGregor of Castle Rock Colorado. Four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren: two sisters, Carrie Travis of Lincoln, and Dorothy Lee of Houghton Lake. Friends may call on Saturday, from 5 to 9 and Sunday from 2 to 8 at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Funeral services will begin on Monday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Laraine Sundin officiating. Burial will be in Springport Cemetery in Harrisville. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Frederick L.
