Beatrice L. Rabey

Beatrice L. Rabey, 97, of Harrisville, passed away Tuesday, January 9, at Jamieson Nursing Home in Harrisville. Born on February 2, 1909 to Joseph and Elizabeth (LaLonde) Bouchard in Black River, she was raised there. She attended school in Rogers City and in Detroit. On November 18, 1933, she married Charles A. Rabey. They were residents of Detroit, moving to Harrisville in 1969. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1985. Beatrice was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Harrisville, and was an avid bridge player. Beatrice is survived by her son; Charles (Dianna) Rabey of Charlotte, four grandchildren; Guy (Elaine) Rabey, Chip (Carla) Rabey, Colette (P.J.) Beland, and Michelle (Allen) Borton, 6 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Lawrence on October 23, 2002, and by 12 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Rabey is at Gillies Funeral Home, Harrisville, where visitation will take place on Thursday from 3 until 5 pm, and from 6 until 8pm, with a Rosary Service at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be on Friday at 11am, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Harrisville, Rev. Peter Eke will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery, Harrisville.
