Herman Somers

Herman Somers, 87, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2006 in Farmington Hills. Born on January 12, 1919 to William and Louise (Dodge) Somers, in Hawes Township, he was raised there. He married Margaret (Peg) McFadden, and they were residents of Lincoln and of Redford. Herman was a purchasing agent for Ford Motor Company for 37 years, and was with Meals on Wheels, Redford for 29 years. He was a member of Strathmore and St. Timothy United Methodist Church, and of the New Beginnings Methodist Church. Herman is survived by his wife, Peg, daughter, Debra (Patrick Burbank), son Jeffery, daughter in law, Kathy, two grandchildren, Sara and Steven, sisters, Hazel Moore, Maxine Bouchard, and Wilma Oliver, as well as may nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Ada and Lucile, and brothers Eugene and Milo. Mr. Somers is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2 until 9 pm. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday at 11 am, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery.
