Edward W. Camp, 92, Glennie, died Saturday, December, 11, 2010, at home. Born June 15, 1918 in Stone Lake, Wisconsin he was raised there and in Munising MI. He served in the Army in WW II serving in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters. He received the Purple Heart for wounds he received in Italy. On April 29, 1946 he married Alta Smith. They were residents of Glennie moving to Romulus, residing in Lincoln Park from 1962 to 1970 moving to Fairview and returning to Glennie in 1980. Mrs. Camp preceded him in death on May 3, 2008. He was a school custodian in the Lincoln Park School District and the Mio AuSable High School before retiring. Mr. Camp is survived by his daughter, Leanna (Thomas) Jonseck of Glennie, his son William (Lynda) Camp of Elizabethtown, Ky , his grandchildren, Valerie, Belinda, Shane, Eric, and Caleb, one great grandchild, Cassie and his sister, Mable Arnold of South Fork VA.. Mr. Camp is at Gillies Funeral Home Lincoln where friends may call from 4-8 P.M., Tuesday, December 14, 2010. His funeral service will be Wednesday at the Lott Baptist Church in Glennie at 11:00 A.M.; Rev. Michael Van Zee will officiate. Visitation will begin at the church at 10 A.M.
