Eugene V. Miller, 88, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2006. Born on December 9, 1917, to Henry and Mae (Stone) Miller in Harrisville, he was raised there. On August 21, 1941, he married June Oliver in Harrisville. Gene served in the United States Army during World War II. He and June owned and operated Miller’s Hardware in Lincoln, from 1944 until 1975. Gene was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, and of the Knights of Columbus, Alcona Council, #4235, and of the 3rd Degree and 4th Degree Alpena Assembly #485. Gene is survived by a son, Robert (Kathleen) Miller of Bay City, three grandchildren; Rhona (Gregg) Snyder, Mark (Karen) Miller, and Scott (Susan) Miller, and by 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, June, on August 18, 2001. Mr. Miller is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where friends may call on Sunday, from 2 until 5, and from 6 until 9 pm, with a Parish Prayer Service at 7 pm, with the 4th Degree standing honor guard. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Monday, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Harrisville. Rev. Peter Eke will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery, Harrisville.
