Georgia L. Jones

Georgia L. Jones, 89, of Spruce, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010 at her home. Born November 23, 1920 to George and Minnie (Hagan) Baron in Elbridge Tennessee, she was raised there. During WWII, she moved to Michigan. Georgia was a Licensed Practical Nurse, and worked at several hospitals, including University of Michigan Hospital, and Garden City Hospital. In 1989 she moved to Spruce. Georgia was an avid quilter. She is survived by two daughters; Maxine (Dennis) Hamlin of Spruce, and Carolyn Gierszewski of Nevada, one son; George (Phyllis) Owens of New Mexico, seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother. Mrs. Jones is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 11:00 am until the funeral service at 1:00 pm.
