Cora E. Clayton, 91, of Harrisville, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Island Hospital in Anacortes, Washington. Born February 12, 1919, to Alfred and Mary (Hodgkin) Brooks in Muskegon, MI, she was raised there. On December 12, 1936, she married Martin Clayton, and they were residents of Harrisville, moving to Flint in 1953. In 1971, they returned to Harrisville. Martin preceded her in death on April 30, 2004. Cora was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Alpena. Cora is survived by one daughter; Carol Ann Clayton of Oak Harbor, WA, Gary (Patricia) Clayton of Mikado, Dale (Karen) Clayton of Oak Harbor, WA, and Wayne (Janet) Clayton of Brighton, MI, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, 2 sisters, and one grandson; Gregory in 1989. Mrs. Clayton is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Sunday, September 12 from 2 until 8 pm. Visitation continues on Monday at the funeral home from 11 am until the funeral service at 1 pm. Pastor David Austin will officiate. Burial will take place in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln.
