Mary R. Beeler, 76, of Mikado passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010 at her home. Born October 14, 1933 to George and Viola (Lindsey) Allen in Munising, Michigan, she was raised in Engadine. She moved to Alcona County in 1965. On August 19, 1993, she married David “Les” Beeler, and they were residents of Mikado. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2007. Mary owned and operated an adult foster care; she loved taking care of people. She enjoyed reading, and was an excellent cook; her chocolate cake and fried chicken will be missed. She is survived by five children; Sharon (Jim) Holderness of Mikado, Ginger (Louis) Campbell of Harrisville, John (Sherry) Weaver of Terry MT, Robin (Dan) Ashmore of Jacksonville NC, and David (Shelly) Huntington of Davisburg MI, 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two great grandchildren, four sisters; Ruby Mayer, Alice Marshall, Louise Marcus, and Vivian Strum, and two brothers; Bill Allen and James Jerome. She was preceded in death by her brother; George Allen. Mrs. Beeler is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2 until 8 pm. Visitation continues on Wednesday from 11 am until the funeral service at 1 pm. Pastor Tim Steiner will officiate.
