Ruby L. Melton

Ruby L. Melton, 78, of Mikado, passed away Sunday June 13, 2010 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born May 12, 1932 to Clinton and Ruby (Smith) Mathis in Loxley AL, she was raised there. She was a longtime Michigan resident. On July 1, 1971, she married Roy Melton in Troy. They were residents of Warren and of Ferndale before moving to Mikado in 2002. Ruby was a member of the UAW Local #155 of Warren. She is survived by her husband; Roy, two daughters; Eleanore (John) Moore and Katherine Harper of Oak Park, one son; John Crouse (Kathy Winchell) of Mikado, 5 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one sister; Elsie Crosby of Loxley, AL, two brothers; Curtis and Eddie (Patty) Mathis of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her daughter; Carol Goodman in 1968. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where private services have been held.
