Arnold R. Cordes

Arnold R. Cordes,60, of Lincoln died Friday, May 14, 2010 at home. He was born January 21, 1950 in Lincoln to Arnold G. and Shirley (Buckmaster) Cordes. Raised in Barton City, Arnie graduated from Alcona High in 1968,later receiving his Associates degree from Alpena Community College. On August 8, 1970 he married Brenda Gunderson. They have been residents of Lincoln. He founded and operated Cordes Electric from 1985 until he retired for health reasons. He was maintenance supervisor at the Oscoda Wurtsmith Airport for many years. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Arnie was a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Barton City. He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Nicole (Dennis) Bischer of Harbor Beach,one son Arnold A.(Kasey Gruber) Cordes of Lincoln. Three grandchildren, Brenna,Jack and Luke,one sister, Constance (John) Stutzman of Lincoln and one brother, William (Sue) Cordes of Barton City. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Godown in 1994. Visitation is Monday from 2-8 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. The funeral will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2:00 P.M., Rev. Tracy Brooks officiating. Memorials suggested to Hospice Of Michigan, Northeastern Unit.
