Barbara Jean Becker

Barbara J. Becker, 68, of Harrisville, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2006 at her home. Born June 24, 1938, in Mikado Township to Harold and Leora (Rushman) Reames, she was raised there, and was a lifelong resident of the area. Barbara married Fred R. Becker on January 24, 1959 in Harrisville. Barbara graduated from Michigan State University in 1975 and taught at the Alcona Community Elementary School, where she completed 18 1/2 years of dedicated service. Barbara was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, Mikado. She is survived by her husband, Fred, one daughter; Patti (Larry) King of Arlington Heights, IL, two sons; Michael (Kim) Becker of Imlay City MI, and Keith (Louann) Becker of Alpena, six grandchildren, two sisters; Carole Campbell and Valerie (Walt) Joslin both of Harrisville, two brothers; Duane (Althea) Reames of Prudenville MI, and Larry (Rosemary) Reames of Oscoda, and by a sister-in-law; Darlene Reames. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Reames and her brother in law, James Campbell. Mrs. Becker is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Wednesday, from 3pm until 9pm, with a Rosary Service at 6 pm. Funeral Service will be Thursday, at 11:00 am, at the funeral home, Rev. Lawrence Boks officiating. Burial will be in St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery, Mikado.
