James R. Lee, 96, of Mikado left this earthly life and entered Heaven and his eternal reward Saturday, May 1, 2010 in Byron Center. He was born September 11, 1913 to James and Kathryn(McDonald) in Mikado. On June 17, 1934, he was married to Edith M. Fowler in Comins, Michigan and then moved to Mikado. He worked as a school teacher, farmer, C.C.C. Camps, forestry dept. and carpenter. He served the Lord in many capacities both in the local church and was always ready to help those in need. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Bill) Hinze of Mikado and Sandy Osbun of Tennessee, one son, James (Debra) Lee of Byron Center, many grand children, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years on November 28, 2006 and three daughters, Jacqueline(infant), Maxine Troupe and Sharon Feggestad. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Home, Rev. Larry Richmond officiating.Visitation will be Tuesday from 1-3 and 7-9 P.M.. Burial will be in Mikado Cemetery.
