Richard “Dick” John Sr. 63, of HubRichard “Dick” John Sr. 63, of Hubbard Lake, MI formerly of Owosso, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Visitation will be held at Gillies Funeral Home, 201 N. Second Street, Lincoln MI 48742 on Friday April 30 from 2 until 4 pm and 6 until 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the funeral home, with Rev. Christina Bright officiating Burial will be in Hubbard Lake Cemetery. A dinner will be hosted immediately after the burial at the Hubbard Lake Fire Department on the South Shore of Hubbard Lake. Dick worked for Buick in Flint for 32 years. Dick enjoyed the northern part of Michigan, especially hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Hubbard Lake Sportsman Association. Dick and his wife moved to their present home at Hubbard Lake in 2001. Dick was born February 25, 1947, son of Anna (Studenka) and Arthur John. He grew up on a farm raising cattle and horses. He also enjoyed riding horses while growing up. Dick married Wanda (Fairchild) on September 23, 1973. Survivors include his wife; Wanda, daughter; Lynn (Dale) Hose, two sons; Richard Jr. (Shannen) John, and Loren John, two grandchildren; Kayla John and Brayden Hose, two step grandchildren; Cassie and Courtney, two sisters; Rosalie (Jack) McAvoy, and Dianne (Milan) Stasa, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dick was preceded in death by his parents.
