Ruth A. Schleben

Ruth A. Schleben, 65, of Harrisville, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at her home. Born January 29, 1945 to James C. and Ida (McDonald) Holmes in Harrisville, she was a lifelong resident. On April 25, 1964, she married Walter Schleben. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1997. She worked for over 25 years in the Housekeeping department at Lincoln Haven Nursing Home. Ruth loved her family, and was deeply devoted to her children and grandchild. She is survived by two daughters; Sheri Schleben of Harrisville, and Sandra Schleben of Shelby Township, one granddaughter; Andrea Steiner of Lansing, two sisters; Alice Arthur of Alpena, and Mary Townsend of Oscoda, three brothers; Ted (Sally) Holmes of Harrisville, John (Cheryl) Holmes of Lincoln, and Donald Holmes of Rogers City. She was preceded in death by her sister; Eva Schleben in 2004. Mrs. Schleben is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where visitation will take place on Thursday, April 8 from 2 until 9 pm. Visitation continues on Friday, April 9 from 11:00 am until the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm. Rev. Tracy Brooks will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Haynes Township.
