Irene Ritchie, 96, of Lincoln, went to be with the Lord, Monday, August 21, 2006 surrounded by her family. Born on April 18, 1910, in Lincoln to Delbert and Inez (Walker) Apsey she was a life long resident of Alcona County. On January 12, 1935, she married Joseph Douglas Ritchie, and they owned and operated a farm. Mr. Ritchie preceded her in death on May 27, 1996. Mrs. Ritchie was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lincoln. An avid seamstress, she enjoyed quilting well into her 90s. She also enjoyed gardening. Irene is survived by four daughters; Betty Young of Harrisville, Clara Jean (Jerry) Yerman, Shirley (Larry) Gerard, and Wanda (Tom) Sharboneau, all of Lincoln, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two sisters; Hazel (Russell) Wallenmaier, of Mikado, and Dorothy (Jack) Cole) of Lincoln, and by one brother Norman (Alice) Apsey of Lincoln. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Anderson in 1978, and by a sister, Mary Buchner, and 5 brothers; Ray, Robert, Howard, Richard, and Kenneth Apsey. Funeral Services were held at at the Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, on Thursday, August 24, with Rev. Tedd Galloway officiating. Burial was in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln. Memorials suggested to the First Baptist Church, Lincoln, or to Hospice of Michigan.
