Betty Mondeau, 85, of Bay City, formerly of Black River and Alpena, died Sunday, August 20, 2006 at MediLodge of Sterling. Born July 4, 1921 in Bay City to Charles and Anna (Wienizerl) Eisenacher, she was raised there. On March 29, 1941 Betty married Joseph Mondeau, they moved to Black River in 1950 where she was a member of the St. Gabriel Catholic Church. In addition to her family, Betty enjoyed the woods and outdoors in general. She was employed by Midway Supermarket of Alpena for many years, retiring in 1983. She moved to Alpena in 1995 and to Bay City in 2001. Her husband preceded her in death on Oct.23, 1988, her son Bob in 1980. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jerry, two sisters Elsie and Helma and one brother, Emil. Survivors include two sons, Gerald of Bay City and Virgil(Lillian) of Linwood, a sister, Alice of Flint and a brother Arthur of California, several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Friends may call from 11 A.M. Friday, August 25, 2006 until the funeral at 2 P.M.at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln with Rev Fr. Stan Bereda officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Black River.
