Stella Barbara Kudla, 95, of Harrisville, Passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at home with her family at her side. She was born October 16, 1914 in Golcowa Poland to Frank and Sophia Augustyn. She married Theodore Kudla on January 27, 1932. He moved to New York and she followed seven years later aboard the last ship to sail before Germany invaded Poland. They resided in Cleveland, Ohio before moving to Harrisville in 1948. She worked at Midwest metal, Rolled Products and Harrisville Tool. Stella was known to her family and friends as “Buchia”, and also for her wonderful cooking. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church of Harrisville. She was preceded in death by her son, John in 1950, her husband on May 8, 1995, one sister, Maxine and two brothers, John and Bernard. She leaves behind her daughter, Maxine(David)Sterner of Harrisville, her grandchildren, Wayne(Mary Jane)Sterner of Cadillac, David(Twila) Sterner Jr of Wichita Falls TX and Kym England of Lansing MI; her great granddaughters, Mikala and Natalie Sterner and Kara and Lindsey England. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Saturday until the funeral at 1:00 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln with Rev. William Livinus officiating. Burial will be in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery, Harrisville.
