James F. Warner, 85 of Greenbush, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at his home. Born on December 12, 1920, to Frederick and Elizabeth (Couchez) Warner in Detroit, he was raised in St. Clair Shores. On December 31, 1943, he married JoAnne Presley in East Detroit. Jim served in the United States Army during World War Two. He was a timekeeper for the Bud Company in Detroit, retiring in 1981, when he moved to Greenbush full time. Jim was a former member of the VFW Bruce Post of St. Clair Shores, and a member of the Oscoda VFW Post #3735. He was also a member of the Ossineke Eagles # 3762, and of the Mikado American Legion, #254, as well as the Greenbush Loyal Order of the Moose, #2529. Jim was an avid hunter and boater, and was well known as a prankster and practical jokester. He is survived by two daughters; Kathy(Robert) Dittrich of Macomb, and Karen Gorecki of Clinton Township, one son; James F. Warner of Florida, six grandchildren, five grandchildren, and his dear friend, Charles Norrow Jr. of Greenbush. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Sullivan. Cremation arrangements were handled by Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
