E. Bernice Somers

E. Bernice Somers, 90, of Lincoln, passed away, Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Lincoln Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. Born November 13, 1919, to John and Bertha (Clark) Sharboneau in Lincoln, she was a lifelong resident of Lincoln. On August 26, 1939, she married Frank Somers in Harrisville. Bernice was a devoted homemaker, and worked as a cook at Alcona Community Schools from 1973 until retiring in 1983. She loved gardening, especially her flower gardens. Bernice attended the United Methodist Church in Lincoln. Bernice is survived by two daughters; Ruth Travis of Mikado and Fay Rozanek of Lincoln, two sons; Ray (Carol) Somers of Lincoln, and Roy (Theresa) Somers of Barton City, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, her sister; Annie Anderson of Lincoln and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; Frank on May 27, 1973, her sister; Virginia Daggett, and two brothers; Fred and John Sharboneau. Mrs. Somers is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 19, from 2 until 8 pm. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, January 20 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, Rev. Tracy Brooks will officiate. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery in the Spring.
