Ruth H. James, 87, of Lincoln, died Dec, 13, 2009, in Lincoln. She was born April 1, 1922 in Curran to Emil C. and Bertha (Jorai) Kruttlin. Raised in Curran, Ruth graduated from Fairview High School and moved to Lincoln in 1939. On October 16, 1948 she married Cecil James. They resided in Lincoln. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1991. She was a secretary with Alcona Motor Sales from 1939 until retiring with over 65 years of service. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church of Harrisville, where she was a former choir member and was a member of the Ossineke Eagles Aerie 3762. Ruth is survived by her three sons; David (Rita), Ted (Patricia), and Joe (Carla), all of Lincoln, two brothers; Ted (Kelly) Kruttlin of Harrisville and Wilbert (Virginia) Kruttlin of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; Angela Tanner, Jessica, Stephanie, Lauren, Michael, Matthew, and Maria James; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters; Lucille Medor and Ethel Olds and three brothers; Emil C. Kruttlin II, Herman Kruttlin and Emil C. Kruttlin III. Mrs. James is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Thursday, December 17, 2009; from 3:00 PM until the funeral service at 7:30 PM. Rev. Fr William Livinus will officiate. Interment will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln, Michigan. Memorials are suggested to the Lincoln Lions Memorial Scholarship Fund or The Lincoln D.D.A. Beautification Committee.
