Ann Karsen, 75, of Alpena, formerly of Lincoln, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at Medilodge of Alpena. Born December 11, 1942 to Lloyd and Elvera (Filoramo) Randle in Detroit, she was raised in Southfield. In 1985, she moved to Oscoda, where she worked in the kitchen at Oscoda Area Schools. On June 12, 1999, she married Richard Karsen Sr. in Mikado, and they were residents of Lincoln. Ann was a devoted member of Community of Christ Church in Mikado, where she served as priestess, and was active in many of the church activities. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crochet. Ann is survived by her husband, Richard, two daughters, Michelle Rayner and Kristina Zuchowski, and one son, Michael (Mehrzad) Rayner, three grandchildren, Zackary and Ashley Rayner and Logan Zuchowski, seven step-children, John (Stacey) Stewart, Mac (Tonya) Stewart, Debra (Ken) Keech, Dickie (Lisa) Karsen, Sandy Karsen, Judy (Bob) Cordes, and Johnny (David) Karsen, and her dear friend, Rose Mowely. Ann is also survived by her family at Community of Christ Church in Mikado. Mrs. Karsen is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where friends may call on Friday, March 16, from 2:00 until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 17, at the Community of Christ Church in Mikado from 2:00 PM until the funeral service at 3:00 PM. Rev. Char McGuire will officiate.
