David Kenneth Murray

David K. Murray, 64, of Spruce, formerly of Lapeer, passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 at his home. Born November 7, 1945 to Kenneth and Sheila (Staniland) Murray in Leeds, England, he was raised mostly in Lapeer. In 1962, he joined the United States Air Force, and served for four years. On March 30, 1984, he married Connie Barnes. A long time employee of the United States Post Office as a letter carrier in the Lapeer area, David moved to Spruce in 1989, where he worked as a clerk in the Harrisville and Lincoln Post Offices. Dave enjoyed hunting and fishing, and woodworking. He was also well known to help with remodeling projects as well as wood cutting. David is survived by his wife Connie, daughter; Kelly Murray of Holly, MI, two sons; Arron Murray of Clio, and Shawn Murray of Mt. Morris, two brothers; Bob (Maureen) Murray of Lapeer, and Bill Murray of South Carolina, as well as 4 nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 2:00 pm, at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln MI.
