Helen Marie Berry, 60, of Harrisville died on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018. She was born on July 24, 1957 in Flint, Mich. to Joseph and Dorothy (Ayre) Masson. She graduated from Kearsley High School in 1976. She married James Berry on May 21, 1983 in Flint, Mich. Mrs. Berry worked in retails sales early in her life, was a process server and florist before she began a pursuit in art. As a professional artist she worked in jewelry making, metalsmithing and taught art to youth at the Flint Institute of Arts and for the Very Special Arts of Michigan. The Berrys purchased a home in Killmaster in 2014 and moved into their home to live full time in October 2016. Mrs. Berry is survived by her husband, James; two sisters, Jeannie (Mark) Mitchell of Genesse Township, Mich.; Annette Searson of Davison, Mich.; one brother, Robert Masson of Davison, Mich.; her father, Joseph Masson of Davison, Mich.; one brother-in-law, Michael (Diane) Berry of Dryden, Mich.; five nieces and nephews; and two dogs, Kachina and Quigley. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy; one brother, John Masson; and one brother-in-law, Ron Searson. A funeral will be held at a later date downstate for family members. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Michigan Chapter. Arrangements were handled by Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
