Alfred H. Engelhardt, 71, of Lost Lake Woods Club, Lincoln, died peacefully at home after a brief battle with cancer. Born April 1, 1946, to Charles and Virginia (Holt) Engelhardt in Columbus, OH, he was raised in Detroit. On May 12, 1994, he married the former Marsha Crutcher in Plymouth, where they resided until moving to Lost Lake Woods Club in 1999. He was a real estate broker with A & M Properties. Al was most of all a very kind and loving husband, father, step-father, and grandfather. He always put others before himself. Al was a member of the Eagles, the Moose, the American Legion, and of the Lincoln Lions. He was known for his incredible sense of humor. Al enjoyed watching college football, especially Ohio State, golf, travelling, and being with his family. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Al is survived by his wife, Marsha, four children, Richard (Kimberly) Engelhardt, Susan (Kirk) Matson, Mary (Hector) Roman, and Thomas (Kathryn) Engelhardt, two step children, Jennifer (Frank) Morton and Jason Degen, and 11 grandchildren. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Memorial donations are suggested to the Alcona Humane Society.
