Milton L. Volrath, 72, of Harrisville died Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Born January 8, 1934 in Lockport, Illinois to Irving and Agnes (White) Volrath, he was raised in Lemont, Illinois. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War, returning to reside in Lemont. On May 10, 1958 he married Helen Grabske they resided in Crestwood, Illinois where he was employed with 3M Company, retiring after 31 years. In 1993 they moved to Harrisville where he was a member of Alcona VFW Post # 6466 the Mikado Legion #254, former member Ossineke Eagles and former Harrisville Lions “Duck man”. Survivors include his wife, Helen, two daughters, Karen Ritter of Tinley Park, Illinois and Ann (Eric) Schroeder of Mikado, one son, Scott Volrath of Harrisville,. Six grandchildren, Stephanie and Samantha Volrath, Jessica and Daniel Ritter and Kaitlyn and Emily Dennett, one sister Dorothy (Raymond)Marciniak of Bellevue, Iowa and one brother, Harold (Nancy)Volrath of Lemont, Ill.. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Gillies Funeral Home, Harrisville at 3 P.M. The family will receive visitors at 2 P.M.
