John Jay Goslee, 99, of Spruce, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Born November 11, 1918 to Bertha (Coble) and Leonard Goslee in Greenville, OH, he lived most of his life in Ann Arbor and Spruce, Michigan. He married Allene Miller, his wife of over fifty years, in 1941. John served as a Tech Sergeant in the Army Air Force in China during WWII. John worked in construction for most of his life and was construction superintendent for many schools, libraries, churches and commercial buildings in the Ann Arbor area. He loved his family, his dogs and fishing. John is survived by his sons, Bill Goslee of Spruce and Steve (Sue) Goslee of Ellsworth, MI, and daughter Sue (Jerry) Balk of Pinckney, MI. He had nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Allene, his granddaughter Jenny Rice and daughter-in-law Maureen Goslee. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A Celebration of John’s Life is planned for Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the South Shore Fire Station in Spruce. The family requests no flowers, but donation may be made to the Alcona Humane Society, in Lincoln, in memory of John and his love of animals.
