Shirley G. Homovich

Shirley G. Homovich, 86, of Harrisville, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. Born July 19, 1931 to William H. and Mary Jane (Bradley) Bishop in Churdan Iowa, she was raised there. Shirley worked in the retail industry as a sales clerk, and raised her family all over the world as they travelled with the military. In 1969 she moved to Harrisville, and married George Homovich in 1974. Shirley loved animals, especially her dogs, Star and J.J. She was a member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary in Oscoda. She loved to bake, especially pies, cakes, and cookies, and always enjoyed trying a new dessert recipe. You never left her house hungry. Shirley is survived by two sons, Robert K. Espelund of Montana, and William H. (Anna) Espelund of Minnesota, three grandchildren, Kenneth (Brenda) Espelund, Dana Espelund, and Robin (Paul) Nelson, and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1991, four sisters and two brothers. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
