Robert C. Hummel, 64, of Alpena, formerly of Lost Lake Woods Club, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his home. Born December 20, 1952 to Arthur and Lula (Collins) Hummel in Detroit, MI, he was raised in Grosse Pointe Park. He resided in Texas and at Lost Lake Woods Club before making his home in Alpena. On June 26, 2004 he married Patricia Albright. Rob was a Certified Addictions Counsellor, who worked at Catholic Human Services, the Sunrise Centre. He retired as coordinator of the Alcona County Drug Court. Rob was very proud of the numerous connections he made through the A.A. program. He was an avid golfer, and a talented woodworker. He cherished his family, and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, as well as his numerous friends who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, two daughters, Gretchen (Mark) Albright of TX, and Emily (Todd) Brevik of Brighton, two stepchildren, Doug (Aimee) Albright of Lake Ann, and Elizabeth (Alex Flores) Albright of Ypsilanti, five grandchildren, Mason, Devin, Abby, Bailey, and Gabriel, three sisters, Cathy Stuart, Nancy Popkey, and Alice Fountain, one brother, Tom (Janet) Hummel, as well as many nieces and nephews, in-laws, and beloved extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Anna McNally, and one brother, Art Hummel. Friends may call on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln from 12:00 P.M. until the Memorial Service at 3:00 P.M.
