Donna Elizabeth Hoffman

Donna E. Hoffman, 69, of Mikado died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at home. She was born April 13, 1940 in Detroit to Floyd and Stella (Szarejko) Aselstyne. On September 1, 1962, she married Frederick Hoffman in Newport, Michigan. They were residents of Newport and Oklahoma before moving to Mikado in 1973. Donna was employed by the United States Postal Service, retiring in April of 2000, after 26 years of service. She enjoyed the out of doors, especially hunting, fishing and trapping, and could often be found in the woods. Donna loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Mikado Fire Department. She is survived by her son; Darrell Scott (Kristin) Hoffman of Mikado, four grandchildren; Robert and Heather Hoffman of Jackson and Cory and Emily Hoffman of Mikado, two sisters; Jacqueline Peredo of Newport Richey Florida, and Linda (Hal) Kays of Conroe Texas, sister in law; Sandy Old of Jerome MI, two brothers in law; George Hoffman of South Rockwood MI, and Charles Hoffman of Fairview MI, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 14, 1998, her daughter; Denise Hoffman, and son Cory Hoffman in September of 1975. Mrs. Hoffman is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where visitation will take place on Saturday, October 10, from 4 until 9 pm. Visitation continues on Sunday, October 11 from 1 pm until the funeral service at 2pm. Rev. Tim Steiner will officiate. Burial will be in Mikado Cemetery.
