Carleton E. Tanner Jr. 83 of Harrisville died Saturday, May 20, 2006 in Harrisville. Born Dec.21, 1922 in Flint to Carleton and Mary (Barker) Tanner, he was raised there. He served in the Army in WWII in the European Theatre and retired from Michigan Bell after 38 years. Carleton married Dorothy Hopkins on Aug. 17, 1946. Long time Flint residents, they moved to Harrisville in 1979 Dorothy preceded him in death on Oct.14, 1984. On March 2, 1985 Carleton Married Pearl Hundiak. Survivors include his wife, and two daughters, Carla (David) Mason of Newburgh IN and Jo Tanner of Harrisville; one son, Ron (Susanne) Tanner of Harrisville, three grandchildren, Becky Puffer, Mark Tanner and Chris Mason and four great grandchildren; five step children, James (Sandy) Hundiak of Chicago, Frank (Tammy) Hundiak of Harrisville, Bobbie (Bill) Haines of Saulte Saint Marie,MI,Lorraine Hundiak of Ossineke and Ellen (Louis) Pake of Cross Hill, South Carolina; Eleven step grandchildren and four step grandchildren. Friends may call Tuesday, May 23 from 5 to 9 at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 1 P.M. at the funeral home, Rev. Claire Duncan Officiating. Burial: MT.
