Robert J. Durand

Robert J. Durand, 70, of Harrisville, died Thursday, October , 1, 2009 at the Lakeview Manor Healthcare Center in Tawas City. Robert was born December 27, 1938 in Livonia to John N. and Anna (Boehmer) Durand. He married Jacqulene Ann Jones on December 31, 1957 and served in the US Army from 1957 until 1959. They were long time Garden City residents, moving to Harrisville in 1992. He was a commercial carpet layer before retiring. They owned and operated the State Park Motel of Harrisville from 1992 until 2002. Robert loved hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Joyce Durand of Harrisville, two sons, Ronald of Louisiana and Douglas of Harrisville, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a daughter in law, Kim Durand of Wayne. He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael on September 7, 1966 and Kenneth on June 4, 2007. Visitation was held Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Gillies Funeral Home, Harrisville and on Monday from 2 until the funeral at 7 P.M. at John N. Santeiu and Son Inc. Funeral Directors of Garden City.
