Daniel "Skip" L. Bilbey

June 18, 1947 — August 1, 2017

Daniel (Skip) L. Bilbey, 70, Glennie, died suddenly on August 1, 2017 from a severe allergic reaction. Skip died at his home with family by his side. Skip’s family is given peace knowing he now rests in the arms of our Lord and Savior in Heaven. Skip was born June 18, 1947 in Pontiac, MI, but was a part of the Alcona County Community for the past 30 years. Some of Skip’s fondest memories were of coaching football for Alcona Schools; hunting and fishing with his family; spending time with his children and grand-children; and most importantly enjoying each day with his lifelong best friend and love of his life, Susan. Skip touched many lives during his time here as a mentor and support not only for his children, but to many others that crossed his path. He was a strong leader with a fierce work ethic and big heart, and was most proud of his family. Skip is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Susan (Beller) Bilbey; his sons David (Ann) Bilbey and Ryan (Kristin) Bilbey; daughter Leslie Bilbey; sister Adelia (Ron) Bolzman; niece Kristin (Bolzman) Bearden, and his grand-children: Dariele, Pierce, Lily, Allison and Julia Bilbey and Evan, Carson and Kyra Haskin. Skip is preceded in death by his parents David and Harriett Bilbey. Friends and family are asked to come celebrate and share memories of Skip’s life at a memorial service at Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Glennie on August 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM, with a light lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Skip’s memory to the Alcona High School Football Program, 51 N Barlow Road, Lincoln, MI 48742.
