Lloyd E. Michaud Sr., 86, of Mikado, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 at his home. Born January 13, 1931 to Matthew J. and Katherine M. (Hawes) Michaud in Lincoln, he was raised in Mikado. Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy, and while stationed in Charleston S.C., he married Ruby Sylvia Pitts on April 3, 1951. After he retired from the Navy, they moved to Mikado. Lloyd went back to work for the Iosco County Sheriff Department. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Barton City, and of the American Legion Mikado Post #254. He enjoyed Euchre games at the Lincoln ACCOA. And avid outdoorsman, Lloyd liked hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden. Lloyd is survived by five children, Sylvia Gay (Richard) Weir of Port Charlotte, FL, Katherine (Robert) Goddard of Harrisville, Brenda Fowler of Mikado, Lloyd (Kimberly) Edward Michaud Jr. of Farmington, UT, and Sharon (Scott) Hiser of Orlando FL, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, and two sisters, Arden Basselman and Lilith Schwickert. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia on June 11, 2015, his son-in-law, Linton Fowler, his sister, Twila Travis, and his brother Oscar “Fred” Fernsemer. Mr. Michaud is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Thursday, July 6, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, July 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Barton City from 1:00 PM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Rev. Laraine Sundin will officiate. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, or to the Alcona Humane Society.
