Margaret M. Monroe, 87, of Lincoln passed away Thursday, May 22, 2017, at her home. She was born July 4, 1929 to Erick and Amelia (Benson) Ostrom in Lincoln, and raised in Alcona County. Margaret attended Oscoda High School and later moved to Bay City and graduated from Central High School. After graduation, she went to work at General Electric in Detroit. She moved back home, and worked for Harrisville Tool for 18 years. Margaret married Emery Monroe on February 13, 1982 in Elmira, Mi, and they resided in Lincoln. In 1987 Margaret began working with the ACCOA delivering senior meals until her retirement in 2005. She was an active member of St. Anne Catholic Church since 1954, where she served as Eucharistic Minister, Vice President, Treasurer, greeter, as well as a member of the Belles Ladies Group. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Emery on August 29, 2013, and her infant son Duane Leslie Lemon on August 15, 1957. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, May 29, 2017 at St. Anne Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the church. Rev. Robert Bissot will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery, Harrisville. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Anne Catholic Church or to Alpena Regional Medical Center Cancer Center.
