Aleta I. (Rickert) Lane, 98, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully at her home on May 28, 2017. Aleta was born to John & Mae Rickert on February 17, 1919, in Mikado, MI, where she was raised. She graduated from Tawas High School in 1936. She married Harry B. Lane on September 26, 1937 in Harrisville. In 1942, they moved to Wayne. Aleta was a devoted homemaker. Harry preceded her in death in 1993. Aleta moved to Traverse City in 2013. Aleta is survived by one daughter, Pat (Bob Hood) Gorney, three sons, Larry (Marjorie) Lane, Terry (Kathy) Lane, and Ray (Debbie) Lane, her son-in-law, George “Pepper” Fisher, 14 grandchildren, Mike (Kerri) Fisher, Beth Carter, Scott (Mary) Gorney, Kris (Tim) Drury, Kurt (Susanne) Lane, Ryan (Lorrie) Lane, Stephanie (Alex) Bloye, Heather (Greg) Porter, Amber (Scott) McGee, Alicia (Jack) Sharlebois, Deane (Brandon) Hytinen, Johnathon Lane, Becky (Bryan) Tyner, and Andrew Lane, 40 great grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and her brother Richard ‘Dick” Rickert. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Fisher, her grandson Bradley Fisher, and 8 brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Twin Lakes Cemetery in Lincoln. Rev. Mary Brown will officiate. A luncheon will follow at Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Glennie.
