Curtis R. Peterson Sr.

Curtis R. Peterson Sr., 68, of Garden City, formerly of Spruce, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at his home.   Born July 1, 1948 to Leonard A. and Rita P. (McGuire) Peterson in Alpena, he was raised in Spruce on the family farm.  On January 14, 1967, he married Kathryn Ramey in Plymouth, and they were longtime residents of Garden City.  Curtis worked for many years with the Local 831 Iron Workers, and retired in 2013 from Unistrut.    He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman.  He enjoyed watching, playing, and coaching sports.  He was very family oriented, and will be dearly missed.     Curtis is survived by his wife, Kathryn, two daughters, Laurie Peterson, and Karen (Russell) Turner and two sons, Curtis Jr. “Rick” (Amy) Peterson, and Jason (April) Peterson, five grandchildren, Jeremy Fabry, Jillian Peterson, Haley Fabry, Ashley Fabry, and Brianna Peterson, one sister, Barbara (Tom) Hendricks, two brothers, Keith (Shirley) Peterson, and Elmer (Mary) Peterson, two sisters-in-law, Lisa Ramey and Norma Peterson, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his dear feline companion Snowball, and canine buddy Sophie.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Peterson.     Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spruce.  Rev.
