Annette E. Apsey, 84, of Harrisville, Michigan died peacefully, Friday, September 4, 2009 in Bowie, MD. at the home of her daughter, Neva Babcock. She was born September 13,1924 in Lincoln, to Herman H. & Velma (Dewey Tarr) Walker and has been a life long resident of the area. On June 29, 1940 she married Ray L. Apsey, her childhood sweatheart, and together they lived in Gustin Twp., (Killmaster) where they farmed for over 60 years. She was a kind, generous lady who loved her family and community and throughout the years invested herself in the lives of the people around her with cards, phone calls, gifts and many words of encouragement. She is survived by her three daughters, Eileen (Stuart) White of Caledonia, MI., Neva (James) Babcock of Bowie, MD. and Loleta (Rev. Arnie) Kirschner of Ossineke; one daughter-in-law, Linda Apsey, Elephant Butte, NM; 15 grandchildren, Laura (Mark) Drake, Darin Forsythe, Nathan (Debbie) Babcock, Brian (Terry) Babcock-Lumish, Benjamin Babcock, Andrew (Donita) Kirschner, John (Tisa) Kirschner, Abigail (Ken) Pokorzynski, Amy (David) Grayeagle, Carrie Durfee, Jeannette (Mario) Macarone, Michele Apsey, Andy Apsey, Alicia Apsey, Austin (Mackenzie) Apsey; Eleven great-grandchildren, Brecken (Brad) Pitsch, Andy Forsythe, Toby Babcock, Anna Babcock, Jack Babcock, Timothy Babcock, Duncan Kirschner, Dane Kirschner, Ceri Pokorzynski, Iris Fontana, Mark Fontana; one great-great-grandchild, Jacov Pitsch; one sister, Anna Mae (Tarr) Girard, one special cousin, Gerald Spencer, two sister’s-in-law, Hazel (Russell) Wallenmaier, Dorothy (Jack) Cole and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray of 62 years on November 30, 2002 and only son, Arnold Ray on December 27, 1997. Services were held on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Church of the Redeemer, Bowie, MD. Visitation will be at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, MI. on Friday, September 11, 2009, 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Arnie Kirschner, officiating.
