Henry A. Hansen,85, of Lincoln died Sunday,September 6, 2009 at home. He was born August 26, 1924 in Spruce to Harold and Olga(Nielsen) Hansen. Raised in Spruce, Henry attended school there and in Alpena. He played baseball in the Alcona County league in 1947, 1948 and 1949. He was an employee at the Besser Company of Alpena and at Resistance Welders Corp. of Bay City where he was a journeyman machinist before retiring in 1986. Henry and Ida "Marion" Apsey were married June 14, 1952 in Harrisville. A longtime resident of Lincoln, he was a former member of the Spruce Lutheran Church and attended the United Methodist Church of Lincoln. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish and hunt. As owner of the Hemlock Haven Hunting Camp, he kept busy maintaining it and getting ready for the next hunt. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marion, and one sister, Norma Gilbertson of Ossineke; two brothers, Frank (Carol) Hansen of Spruce and Gordon "Gus"(Dorothy) Hansen of Alpena and eight nephews. Henry and Marion considered themselves to be a second family to many very close relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Alfred, three sisters, Alice Hansen,Margaret Weinschenk and Signe DeMay, his brother in law, Thomas Gilbertson and one niece. Visitation will be Monday, September 7, 2009 at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln from 2-8 P.M.. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 2:00 P.M.,Rev. Tracy Brooks and Rev. Laraine Sundin will officiate. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Lincoln, United Methodist Church of Lincoln or the Spruce Lutheran Church.
