Leon J. Michel

Leon J. Michel, 90, of Harrisville, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Lincoln Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. He was born May 8, 1926, to Gaston and Julia (Quewet) Michel in Nandrin Belgium. Leon served in the British Army, and moved to the United States in 1949. On November 11, 1950, he married Janet Mendyka in Detroit. They were residents of Oak Park MI, where worked as a carpenter, and retired to Beverly Hills FL in 1989. They moved to Harrisville in 1999. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville. Leon is survived by his wife, Janet, one daughter, Karen (George) Minassian of Farmington Hills, MI, one son, Roger (Melissa) Michel of Beverly Hills, FL, and one niece Michelle Thomas of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his sister Louise. Funeral services will be Monday, April 3, 2017, at 11:30 AM at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, visitation will begin at 10:00. Rev.
