William R. “Red” Davidson, 77, of Harrisville, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at his home. Born May 18, 1939 to James and Verna (Curry) Davidson in Flint, MI, he was raised there. Red attended Central High School in Flint, and joined the U.S. Navy, serving in the Suez Crisis. He married Sherry Schultz in 1986 in Fenton, and they were residents of Linden. He retired from Buick in 1987, and moved to Harrisville in 1990. Red was a member of the Mikado American Legion Post #254, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Red is survived by his wife, Sherry, two sons, Bill (Sabrina) Davidson of Mayville, MI; and Wesley Davidson of Burton, MI, one granddaughter, Sarah Davidson, special family members, The Tracy Tribe, Dick and Norma Tracy of Hubbard Lake, MI, Luke; Lex; Ashton; Rilee; and Gracyn Tracy, of Harrisville, Chastity; Richard; and R.J. Elliot of TN, and Lee Shull of Houghton Lake, MI. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Mikado American Legion Post #254 from 2:00 until 5:00 PM. Memorial donations are suggested to the Alcona Humane Society. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
