Leonard L. Sampson Sr.

Leonard L. Sampson, Sr., 84, of Harrisville, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at his home. Born October 12, 1932 to Andrew and Sarah (Eden) Sampson in Buel Township, MI, he was raised in Pontiac and in Lapeer. On April 11, 1953, he married Joan Jackson, and they were longtime residents of Clarkston. Leonard worked for General Motors in production, and retired to Harrisville in 1980. As a young man, Leonard enjoyed racing cars. He enjoyed the outdoors, and taking care of his lawn. He liked playing cards and doing word search puzzles. He is survived by his daughter Sharon (Charles) Travis of Pontiac, son, Larry (Tammy) Sampson of Potterville, eleven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan on July 1, 2006, and by four brothers. Mr. Sampson is at Gillies Funeral Home in Harrisville, where friends may call on Saturday, March 11, from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM.
